Our purpose: The Gateway Dance Conservatory’s purpose is to stimulate interest and participation in all forms of dance and associated fine arts by offering a multidisciplinary education for all ages and abilities from newborn through adults, including populations with special needs. We conduct classes, workshops, lectures, lecture demos, high quality public performance opportunities, cross-training, therapies and healthy living education.
Our goals: Gateway Dance Conservatory wants to allow any student access to dance and associated fine arts education, regardless of the student’s ability to pay or a students physical or mental ability. We seek to develop inclusive and independent classes that embrace the individual needs of each student. Our hearts, minds, and focus are on the students and providing them with everything they will need to succeed in the fine arts world.
The Gateway Dance Conservatory is currently recognized by the State of Missouri and the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
Our corporation is committed to developing our mission. We have many families who are able to enroll due to our scholarship program, which is based on financial need and current family situations. We also have been able to offer an increased amount of special needs classes and were able to integrate some of those students into our inclusionary classes.
We hope to increase these opportunities as we grow. Financial donations and other types of contributions will help our current and future students enjoy the benefits of the arts!
Our plans: Current and future plans to achieve our goals include:
- Additional scholarships
- Class adaptations for students with individual needs and accommodations for disabilities
- Private and/or small-group instruction
- Costume rental program
- Shoes and dance wear available for loan
- Classes for students age 3 through senior adult
We look forward to adding new programs as space and financial support become available.
